Eden Medical Center officials have launched an online “blog” to engage the community in a conversation about the new $400-million Sutter Medical Center Castro Valley.
“We want our patients, employees, volunteers and the community to have a voice in the future of their hospital,” said George Bischalaney, President and CEO of Eden. “The design and technology planned for the new hospital will make it an extraordinary resource for the community and a beacon of pride.”
Through a variety of online media tools, the blog (short for Web-log) will make it possible for readers and the community to get updated posts written by members of those involved in the designing of the new hospital.
Visitors and subscribers of the blog will receive regular updates, from building regulation approvals through all phases of construction. They will also be able to comment and ask questions, with assurance of a timely response, or they can join social networks and participate in group discussions about the new hospital with project team members.
“With a new hospital changes are inevitable, and it is important to provide a forum where people can ask questions, comment on our updates and be heard,” Bischalaney said.
