Now you can watch the construction live, track the progress and even view time lapse images of the construction site. Our new WebCam gives you 24-hour access to the action.
Crews have been working hard since July 1, 2009, to grade the property and move the helicopter landing site to make way for the foundation. The project now has approval from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) for the first phases of construction, and the contractors are working to make progress before the late fall rainy season.

just wanted to know who the fire sprinkler subcontracter is for this project.
Great! I really like the web cam idea for following the construction progress of our new Castro Valley hospital. Is there anyway, or some sort of “gadget” we might place on a computer desktop and simply click-and-go directly to the construction cam?
Thank you, Joe. You can “bookmark” the site so you can access it quickly when your browser is open, or you can create a shortcut from your desktop. The shortcut process varies depending on your browser, but generally you can do this very simply: click on the small icon directly to the left on the URL address (in the location bar) and drag that to your desktop. You will then see the icon on your desktop. Clicking on this icon takes you directly to the site. Thanks for following our progress!
Jerry – the sprinkler subcontractor on the project is Transbay. The general contractor is DPR construction. Thanks for checking!

Nice timelapse videos
how often does the web camera move to a different angle
What is the total cost of construction project?
The camera changes angles based on where the most activity is taking place. It was moved most recently so viewers could watch the demolition of the medical office buildings, as well as the relocation of the helicopter landing site. The camera will be adjusted again soon to capture the full view of the foundation work. As work expands,we may add a second camera. Thanks for the question!
Mr. Mendoza,
Thank you for your question. The total cost of the construction project is $320 million. The adjacent medical office building, which will also be home to the Urgent Care Center and administrative functions of the hospital, is $80 million.
The project is funded by Sutter Health, with no public funds or tax.
